Strangers in a strange land and Denny's at 5am....

We finally caught a break in NY… Yup, we loaded the trailer (looks a lot like a fishing shanty actually) and took a really wet ride over to Plattsburgh Saturday for our third show in NY and our second in a month at the Naked Turtle. Jeremy Dewyea and his crew surprised us on the ferry and made the trip for the show. Pretty freakin’ cool and a sign of things to come.
The fishing shanty. Doesn't it look like it should
have a stove pipe sticking out of it?

Now up to this past weekend, we hadn’t been able to draw flies in NY and were wondering if the trip across the lake was a worthwhile proposition. Turned out it is. Lots of new NY area P’Dome fans turned up along with some old friends from back home. We were shocked and very appreciative. Patrick Ashton from ROCK the 802 brought a car load with him, including Scotty G and Gary from Justice, along with the lovely Vickie and Kimmy, I suspect to keep Scott and Gary under control. Brad Ravlin from Nightrain was also there along with Taylor from Cry Havoc, Wendy Humphries, Sarah Pal and a slew of others I know I missed. Nonetheless, we loved having everyone there.

Ed - he never came to Denny's.
The show itself was a blast and good for us. Getting us out of our comfort zone is very energizing and gives us a new perspective on performing which is inspiring. It’s a good thing. We need to do more of that.

The folks at the Turtle were awesome. Great energy, a wedding party and bachelor party helped set a perfect mood for the evening and kept people on the dance floor all night… some even jumped the stage to sing… must have thought we were some kind of new live karaoke deal or something… All in all it was a great event and has us looking forward to Olive Ridley’s in November.

The Lumberjack Slam
Thank God for Denny’s and the Lumberjack Slam. It’s 1700 calories of artery-filling goodness that’s sooo bad for you, but so good at 5am…. That said, never tell Mark and Tony (or Joe and Tom for that matter) you’ll come to Denny’s for breakfast after a P’Dome show and then not show up. Your cell phone will explode with messages, texts and pictures. Then we’ll call your land line and fill your voice mail if you don't answer. Just sayin’…..

We’re getting’ ready for the Cowboy Up! event at On Tap on August 24th. Folks have been asking if we really want peeps to dress like a cowboy and the answer is yes - we love Daisy Dukes, pigtails and chaps! On the ladies. We don’t care too much what the guys wear except for chaps. We do not need to see guys struttin’ around in assless chaps.

See ya’ on the road,
P’Dome
